Rioli's year gets better and better

  • Rioli's year gets better and better

Hawthorn superstar Cyril Rioli had his most consistent and best year so far in his career in 2015, one that was capped off with a fourth premiership and a Norm Smith Medal to go with it, putting his critics back in their place.

But in the final month of the year, Rioli's year continues to get better after signing a new two year contract extension.

Rioli played all but one game in season 2015, which he missed, not through injury, but through a family grievance that he wanted to attend in the Northern Territory.

The dynamic small forward is likely to remain just that next season after a successful 2015 where he played most of his football in the forward line, rather than the midfield, which caused a number of injuries prior to his best year to date.
